Building an audience in Taiwan

Taiwan played an important role in JJ Tan’s development as an artist. His exhibition record includes World of Flowers at the Gangshan Cultural Art Centre, Garden of Light at Howard Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung and Petals of Resilience on Yangming Road.

These presentations brought his floral paintings into cultural, hospitality and community settings, allowing new audiences to encounter the work beyond a conventional studio environment.

Returning to Singapore

In Singapore, JJ shared his work at the Mazu Cultural Festival at Resorts World Sentosa, The Arts House on Old Parliament Lane and ION Art Gallery at ION Orchard. The exhibitions connected his artistic life in Taiwan with the community in his home country.

At ION Art Gallery, United States Ambassador to Singapore Jonathan Kaplan was among the distinguished visitors who viewed JJ’s work.

A growing visual archive

JJ also participated in the Singapore 58th National Day Celebration Paintings Auction at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. Together, these events trace an artistic journey that crosses places, languages and communities.

The Exhibitions archive preserves 179 photographs from these occasions, documenting the paintings, venues and people who have been part of the journey.
